Our Name
While our approach is more spiritual than religious, we can't ignore the numerous instances in the Bible where the number 40 is associated with trials, testing, and hardship (Genesis 7:17, Proverbs 24:10, Habakkuk 2:2)
The number 41 symbolizes a beacon of hope for all!
Noah built the ark. It rained 40 days and nights, but on day 41, the rain stopped.
Moses committed murder; he hid in the desert for 40 years. Year 41 came, and God gave Moses a second chance—commissioning him to rescue Israel from slavery in Egypt.
After the Exodus, the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Year 41 came, and a new generation entered the Promised Land.
For 40 days, Goliath bullied Israel, begging for someone to fight him. On day 41, David stepped up and slew the giant.
For 40 days, Jonah delivered a message of doom and gloom to the city of Nineveh—that God would destroy them because of their wickedness. Day 41 came, and God changed his mind and instead extended mercy because the Ninevites had repented.
After being baptized, Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and was tempted by the devil. Day 41 came, the devil fled, angels showed up, and Jesus launched his monumental ministry.
During the 40 days after his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples on several occasions—proving to them that he was alive and breathing new life into them as he explained the Kingdom of God and commissioned them to build it.
On day 41, after promising to send the Holy Spirit in his place, he ascended into heaven, leaving the disciples to carry out his plan for launching the church—a church that still prevails against the gates of hell.
Day 41 represents the dawn of a new day. Regardless of what your past is, our dedicated team is here to help returning citizens in need of a 2nd (or 100th) chance! There is hope for those who feel trapped in the wilderness of unexpected circumstances- don’t give us, the rain will stop, the giant will fall, and you can enter the promised land (free world)

We come alongsde men who have hit their rock bottom and help them to build a firm foundation in Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
We envision a community where every returning citizen has a job that will enable them to provide a safe place to call home and are provided the support needed to lead a stable and secure life.
-
Day 41 Resource Center is a faith-based organization. We are Christian in our faith orientation, following Jesus and His example to show unconditional love. Accordingly, we are called to serve every returning citizen regardless of faith or lack thereof.
-
Day 41 Resource Center also does not discriminate in its provision of services or resources based on an individual's crime history, religion, race, color, national origin, gender, age, personal appearance, disability, political affiliation, veteran status, sexual orientation, and gender identity, or genetic information.

Our Core Values
-
God First - We will seek God in all we do and count on Him to help us do more than we could ever imagine. We will give Him the glory for all He uses us to accomplish.
-
EVERYONE deserves another chance | We welcome with compassion all returning citizens regardless of the crime they committed or how many times they have been arrested.
-
Peer Empowerment – We believe the voices and experiences of individuals who have been or are currently incarcerated define the best path forward to stop the revolving doors of incarceration and break the cycle of crime.
-
Spirit of Collaboration – We believe we have been called as one among many to reduce recidivism and that we cannot solve this issue or effectively serve returning citizens if we seek to operate individually rather than collectively. Accordingly, we look for opportunities to collaborate with and support others committed to reduce recidivism.
-
Respect - We value, listen to, learn from, and appreciate each other, our clients, our board, our donors, and our community.
-
Integrity - We insist on absolute honesty, the highest standard of conduct, and accountability to each other and all of our stakeholders.
-
Excellence - We demonstrate exceptional performance and service.
